CDs and Meditation
I chose to write my own healing meditations because of what my clients have taught me through their very real physical, emotional, and spiritual pain and suffering. I also drew upon my own experience of pain and suffering and how meditation helped me to heal, and continue to heal, at all levels of my being.
But what I encountered during my own healing process with guided imagery meditation CDs was that most of them were neutral or what most people would consider “non-Christian”, which made me a bit uncomfortable in using them or recommending them to others even though they worked beautifully. If I was not completely comfortable with these CDs at the spiritual level, then I knew I couldn’t become holistically balanced within the mind and physical level either in order to experience a complete healing. Our perceptions and belief systems are a critical part of holistic healing. The more we heal holistically, the more we are open and can expand those perceptions and beliefs to accept and incorporate other’s belief systems. Our relationship with God and others is greatly enhanced, and we move closer to being able to become the “one body of Christ.” But it all has to start within our own being. God speaks to us in many ways and forms, but the way to hear comes from deep within. The best way I have found to “hear” God personally is through a daily practice of prayer, reading Scripture, and meditation. I cannot imagine my life without hearing God’s voice and guidance, or feeling God’s loving movement within me, around me, and from me.
Eventually, I began writing my own Scriptural-based meditations while incorporating the theories of energy medicine. After all, everything in the universe is energy, including our minds, thoughts, emotions, and the incredible healing power of love (which is GOD). Soon after, I received many requests from clients to record my meditations so they too could experience this powerful way of connecting to God at a deeper level and to experience this healing energy. This led me to Emmy nominee Rik Stirling of Stirling Sound, Inc., to help in the recording of my meditation CDs. And what an incredible partnership it became!
I personally found that when I first began meditating, guided imagery meditation was the easiest for me to follow and stay focused. It also helped me incorporate and schedule it into my day because I knew exactly the amount of time it would take. This helped me to establish a daily routine of meditating, of releasing stress, giving time to only myself and God, and surrendering. Once it became routine I moved on to meditations of just background music. Eventually I was able to stay very focused during silent meditation, then to focus on nothing at all but rather to just be. But no matter what type of meditation I chose for the moment, I have been able to hear God’s voice within all of them – but not always! Sometimes it’s simply the presence that’s needed. And I still go back and forth to the different types of meditation. What type I use depends on my intent at that present moment.
I tell you all of this because it has been my own journey with meditation and developing a closer relationship with God. We all are on our own journeys, and I use my story simply as a guide for you on yours. Guided imagery meditation may not be a way that you are interested in to connect at a deeper level with God or to experience holistic healing. But if it is, I strongly recommend that you check out my CDs. Like mine, the road to your own personal healing and/or enhanced relationship to God and others MAY ONLY BE A CLICK AWAY!
